Updated on 1 September 2026 | Altavela (also registered as Altevela or Altevella) was a 45-ton, 60¼-foot-long, two-masted, billet-headed schooner built in Essex in 1847. Jesse W. Smith was the master. Ownership was divided into eight shares; Solomon Bangs held two.1 It was active at least until 1885.2
