Updated on 1 September 2026 | Allie B. Dyer was an 87¼-ton, 79¼-foot-long, two-masted, billet-headed schooner built by Francis Kennison in Salisbury in 1866. James S. Dyer was the original master, followed by Edward B. Cook and Orlando Jefferson Tripp. Ownership was dispersed among 21 individuals, including one D. C. Stull of Provincetown (presumably the “Ambergris King”), none of whom held more than 2 of the 32 shares.1 Allie B. Dyer made five whaling voyages from 1867 to 1870, before being withdrawn in 1871.2
