Text last updated on 16 January 2017 | Given the retro coziness of the Mayflower Café, the longtime home of Michael Janoplis Jr. (b1931) is something of a surprise, striking a contrasting note of 1960s modernism. Janoplis and his brother succeeded their father as proprietors of the Mayflower in 1962. He and his wife, Carol I. Janoplis (b1930), a nurse, lived here through the mid-2000s. The family still owns the property.
