Text last updated on 14 March 2017 | “Hippie House” was the name given by Jay Critchley to this impromptu warm-weather dwelling deep in the Province Lands. He shared his discovery of it with me in 2010. The ramshackle shelter was made of screening, shelving, trellises, grillwork, aluminum siding, wire mesh, window frames, railings, U-channel posts, nylon rope, poly tarps, a lawn chair, and an ornamental back door with the initial “S.” In other words, it was a proper Provincetown home.
