Bound K

Map showing the bounds of the Province lands … (1893). Boston Public Library. Norman B. Leventhal Map Center. Call number G3764.P78 1893.M3.

Text last updated on 25 February 2017 | The irregular border between town and common lands was marked at 15 intervals by granite markers, or bounds. Some can still be seen, incised with the legend “STAT. 1893 CHAP. 470” (Statutes of 1893, Chapter 470) on one side and “P. L.” (Province Lands) on the other, together with a letter designation. Bound K was placed 1,340 due east of Bound J. That should place it about 100 feet north of Route 6, about 360 feet east of the Howland Street intersection. I haven’t found it yet.
