Text last updated on 18 February 2017 | There are numerous Heman Smiths in the pages of the Advocate — that’s Heman (“Faithful”), by the way; not Herman. The 1880 street atlas shows 6 Nickerson Street as belonging to the estate of H. M. Smith, suggesting that Long Point Heman was the one who died in May 1879, at the age of 69.
