Updated on 23 August 2026 | Alabama was 43-ton, 61-foot-long, two-masted, billet-headed schooner built in Essex in 1856. It made Provincetown its hailing port in 1872, having moved from Boston. Washington Case was the master. Three-quarters of the shares in Alabama were owned by a partnership of Jonathan Cook, Henry Cook, and Sylvanus Cook.
