Updated on 23 August 2026 | An aerolite is a stony meteorite. Aerolite (226868) was a 51-foot, 25-ton, wood-hulled dragger built in 1927 in Dennysville, Me., meaning almost certainly at the Pushee Brothers shipyard.1 Joaquin Martin was the captain in the early 1950s, succeeded in 1956 by Capt. Joaquin B. Peters (1921-1965) of 5 Winthrop Street. When Aerolite mysteriously sank at its mooring in April 1958, Stephen J. Perry of 18 Standish Street was the captain. As of 2017, Aerolite‘s hailing port was Boston and Perry was the designated owner.
