Updated on 22 August 2026 | Acorn was a 198-ton, 91¾-foot-long, two-masted, billet-headed bark built in Charlestown in 1837. Otis Puffer (what a wonderful name) was the master. Ownership was divided into 32 shares. The largest shareholders, with 4 each, were Wats & Aldridge and J. C. Tyler & Company of Boston. Nickerson & Tuck were the agents. Enoch Nickerson and Francis B. Tuck held 3 shares each.1
