Text last updated on 17 October 2026 | From 1944 to 1965, this was the home of Thomas A. Turner (±1918-1965); his wife, Isaura (Sylvester) Turner; son, Thomas W. “Tucker” Turner; and daughter, Martha (Turner) deLomba (±1943-2002). Turner worked at the Atlantic Coast Fisheries and the Provincetown Inn. He had purchased the property for $2,500 from Matilda (Glover) Francis, the widow of Manuel Canada Francis (±1873-1940), a fisherman. Paul L. Smith bought the property in 1971. On his death in 2005, it passed to his sister Mary B. Smith. She lived here until her death in 2023. The property has since passed to Mary’s nephews Michael Gallagher (d2025) and Lawrence Gallagher. It remains in the family. Mary Smith (b 1926) bought this 1850s house in 1971 and has owned it ever since.

Correction: The home was purchased by Paul L. Smith in 1971 for $25,000. Upon his passing in 2005, the home passed down to his sister, Mary B. Smith, who lived in the home until her passing in 2023. The home subsequently passed down to her two nephews, Michael (deceased 2025) and Lawrence Gallagher, and currently remains with the family.
