Text last updated on 4 September 2016 | This was the last home in Provincetown of Joseph C. Hawthorne (±1909-1994) and his wife, Hazel Hawthorne. The son of Charles W. and Marion Hawthorne, Joseph was renowned nationally as the conductor of the Toledo and Chattanooga symphony orchestras; locally for founding and directing the Provincetown Symphony Society in the latter half of the 1950s. The property is now owned by Marcene Marcoux, a member of the Historic District Commission.
