Text last updated on 2 January 2017 | Two generations of the famous Rivers fishing clan lived here: Louis A. Rivers (1924-2008), the skipper of Miss Sandy and the co-owner — with his wife, M. Marjorie “Margie” (Schmorrow) Rivers (1925-1999) — of Mar Lou Fisheries; and Louis A. Rivers Jr. (1948-2011), skipper of the Johnny O. The older Rivers couple purchased this property in 1945 from Gustav and Meda C. Aust, and sold it in 1960 to Harry Engel.
